I have a Canon T4i and currently my widest angle is 24mm. I just purchased a Tamron 17-50 lens. Will this be wide enough, even on the crop sensor? Or should I pick up a wide angle converter? If so, would buying one of the cheap ones be a really bad idea? Would it completely screw up the quality of the image?
check out the No Film School website. they have a free dslr filmmaking manual that is really good resource.

WACs soften the image horribly, as well as make focus more difficult and take away some light. If anything I'd recommend investing in a 11~16 tamaron zoom. They are getting cheaper these days, if you feel you need it.
