Hello to friends of every creative stripe! A great forum here to let you know that the story of America's first "rascal" and first poet in English (Thomas Morton of Merrymount) is still in the works and looking for that perfect ball-carrier---you know, maybe that powerhouse John Goodman realizing he's the perfect (kind, cunning and crazy) actor to play the real-life English Renaissance-man who shook Puritan New England at the foundations. Morton, with his exceptional respect for the American landscape and its Native peoples, patched together a whole frontier of different peoples into the most raucously successful plantation on the land---and he gave the Puritans comic and legal hell right back as they started to chase and burn him from the land. You know this film has to happen before the big 1620-2020 Pilgrims' anniversary sings us the "tragic necessity" song again! So check Morton out in the screenplay here with full proposal (the project "Merrymount: A True Adventure Comedy"), and at ANCIENTLIGHTS.org......And thank you for every connection you'd like to make!
