Hello all. I just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a Brit now resident in NYC. Bit of a yankophile loving most things American, especially movies and sitcoms. I work with a small production crew mostly friends. I'm currently promoting a short web series called The Center about modern LGBTQ life in New York. Just a few thoughts. What's happened at Logo? Despite a rise in LGBTQ characters in sitcoms and movies there is no one channel offering exclusively gay material. I find this a bit annoying given the market for it. We're now looking at developing this series exclusively on the web and because we like to pay crew and actors we're looking to get advertisers or a major sponsor or producer on board. I enjoyed writing the script. I will post a section of it fairly soon. I'm excited about meeting new people. I love to help if I can. I like going for coffee, walking around NYC and having a beer or two. I've discovered I'm a decent comedy writer - see my two spec scripts and I also like to edit. Anyway hope to connect with more like-minded people on this site. Thanks. Jak

Have you looked at Showtime? They're a bit more gay-friendly. 3/4 of their shows have a gay character on there (i.e. Nurse Jackie...etc). And they re-run The L Word.
Hi Norton thanks for the feedback. Yes is the short answer. It seems that NO ONE has the balls to put out another 100% gay show. I put it to anyone out there: the market for this content clearly exists, it's a broad and diverse demographic. One lives in hope. Our show brings together many elements in queer culture because we don't exist in vacuums.
Watched The Center, first episodes 1-3, then intro, & interview. I love, love, love it! http://blip.tv/the-center-show-- I love the narrator, love the martini, the characters, the concept. Want to see more! I hope you can get it picked up. Until then, I hope you keep the webisodes coming, and would like to see them longer. Excellent!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! It makes us so happy to hear. We are looking to upload one more then some actor content then let it sit in cyberspace. We're on FB. Our community there is growing. Once all content is up we will begin to contact industry people again. I would love to have the budget for these actors and crew. We already have SEASON 1 flushed out. It would tackle political and cultural subjects that are important to our community and the Civil Rights movement in the US. But again - thank you for your positive feedback. Very appreciated. Jak

All the best with your series, Jak. So sorry to hear about Logo. I am integrating LGBT characters into projects I am co-creating/co-writing (treatments and scripts), and for writing commissions. Maybe Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, or the New Google PLAY are possibilities. Cheers!
I agree the traditional outlets are dying anyway. I want to be free enough to take the characters where they need to go. What are you working on?
Just a quick check in to let you know I've read you message & will reply. My dad is in the ICU in Houston. He's had 10 blood transfusions due to bleeding which they are having difficulty stopping. The docs are trying not to operate, but if what they are attempting now doesn't work, they must operate on his colon to attempt to stop the bleeding or he will lose his life. Any love, light, healing energy is welcome. Thanks.

Good day Jak! No news on dad yet. Thanks so much. On another note . . . I'm a healing artist who is discovering what it means to be in what i like to call "HeARTS & Entertainment." I would love to host a meetup on my internet radio station for those of us who would like to talk about how our identity as healers/lightworkers/earthangels/etc and/or connection to metaphysics or whatever words we choose to use impacts our roles and contributions in this creative realm. Mercury is out of retrograde, and Mars will be very soon (Sun, Moon and Ascendent have Mars ruling), so it's time to start moving out of the inner, revisit, re-evaluate, re-assess, cocoon stage now with projects.
