Impressive!
A little bit long your demo...lost punch. Dark scenes are not goods for Ipad and small devices. In terms of measure an actor shows the first condition to touch the heart of the audience. Skills and humble. You´re full of yourself. Don´t slide to a Drive cranken personality Most of begginers are like that. Think about the people able to help you. Now you´re trying to impresss them, but not in the right pad. Less is more, short better tan longer. Show two scenes, a comedy, a drama...or three... a sexy one too. That´s enough. Let the people watching your acting in need for more. Be clear, honest, sincere with your art. The camera watchs all.

Thanks Tim and Nelson! :) So Javier, howlong do you suggest a showreel should be? Do you have a link to your own?
Sorry Marleen, ain´t get a link. The showreel coul be two or three or four minutes long. It depends... Most important than the right duration it´s the right emotion. It´s like a script...readers from agents turn down the samples in the first or second page for inadequated format and other no profesional marks. Look for a pro showreel en E talenta or similarplatforms. Also show this one to editors and pros of your circle, but try to get from them a sincere opinión. I know it´s difficult when they do that for granted. It´s more easy to say Oh It´s wonderful| you´re awesome it looks great! You´re happy and they don´t have to spend a minute thinking seriously at. Best for you Marleen

the range is good. I think you need better vehicles. with the right role in the right project, you could do very well. this is a nice showreel though. keep up the good work, and keep looking for better roles. you deserve a good roll on a big project. if you want a broader audience, you may do a separate showreel that's more family friendly. some production companies like to do family friendly films. if you want to appeal to them, you might cut out some of the more riské scenes. it's sometimes good to have more than one show reel so you can send the right one to the right people, if they're looking for something specific.
1st, I don't think Javier was being hostile at all. just giving advice. good advice if you ask me. I agree with lyse. there a couple shots that are distracting, but don't add to your acting ability. the reel shows range and that's good. the tape you have here is good. there's always room for improvement. but, what you have is very good. what you have to do now is get it before casting directors. I could easily see you on Banshee. I think they'd like you there https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tona-B-Dahlquist-Casting/354971765249
btw, if you've never seen Banshee http://www.cinemax.com/banshee/
Thanks Javier, Hoe and Lyse, for all the tips! I'll keep them in mind :) The showreel is my first of multiple projects so I'm still getting the hang of creating a good showreel. Luckily I've done quite some projects over the past year, all tho all shorts and lowbudget films. As you know, those projects are not 'the best' you can get (or hard) and it's quite hard to play good roles in them, especially when they are made by inexperienced film makers like most were :) but I'm also still learning so all your tips are very welcome! I think the tip of making separate reels for different types of projects/casting calls is a good one ^_^ Thanks! I'll continue working on my reel and replace some shots here and there when I have better! Hope 2014 will bring me some good new projects! So is it a good idea to try and get directly in touch with casting directors? Do you guys have any tips on how to do this or where to find them? I haven't heard about Banshee, I've checked the links and it looks really cool :D it's a tv series? It's not know in Holland, that's why i haven't heard of it :) Haha, really nice of you to tip it, John! But what makes you think they'd like? And is there a way to bug them with my showreel? >:) Thanks again!

Haha, oh my god! Sorry there hoe...ermmm Joe! It seems my typing prefers Joe with an H 0:)
maybe the autocorrect was set up by a Spanish speaking person. they pronounce the J like an H in Spanish, as in José. which can be confusing, because they also pronounce the G, X and, curiously, the H, as an H too. so, essentially, they have four H's in the Spanish alphabet.

You seem to have acquired a solid following, and I can see why, again, very impressive, very real potential, good luck.
