Perfect, I'm Directing my first Short. Really solid tips and timely, thank you!

Darious J. Britt

You're more than welcome MJ.

Rob Lindsay

Great advice!

MJ Gavin

Hey there, any other resources you would recommend for budding Directors? Books. Articles, Blogs?

Stephen J. Jacobs

Darious, I'm not an actor, but everything you said made a lot of sense to me. Your logic and ways to minimize a lot of problems by avoiding over-directing was clear and pre-emptive. Thanks.

I'll see if I can do an episode or two recommending what books I've found useful Gavin. Thanks for the suggestion.

MJ Gavin

Hey D, just letting you know. I'm directing my fist short based on a feature that I wrote. I take the over directing thing seriously, at the same time trying to be mindful for those actors that want more direction. I'll get you a link to the short when we're done so you can judge for yourself!

Darious J. Britt

Nice. Definitely send me a link when you're done. Good luck and as long as you're aware of over-directing and you want to be a good direcotr who's mindful of his actors needs, you'll do just fine =)
