Hello Stage32 members, I don't know if this is the right place to post this topic, but I've been contacted by a network member, Mr Mehernosh Kapadia, who told me he was preparing a movie and looking for an actress with my profile and if we could have a Skype interview. I obviously accepted. During the interview, he asked me if I could make a strip-tease and take my clothes off. He justified his request by saying that the role required nudity and he wanted to be sure that I was able to get naked, that I wasn't too shy. Otherwise on the set, this would have been a problem. I obviously refused as this wasn't a professional behavior and that in any case I would have taken my clothes off. He replied that in this case I could not have the role and I said I wasn't interested in this project anyway. He insisted. I eventually could end this conversation. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. I know there are plenty of people out there trying to take advantage of young actresses, but I believe that when one meet such a person must alert the others, in order to stop these people. Plus, Stage32 is a professional network and we should be able to trust each other, make connections to work together and also help each other. In my opinion, such a behavior doesn't belong in here. That's why I'm sharing my experience: firstly to alert the other actresses to be careful if this guy get in touch with you. And also, to encourage other girls who've been in the same situation to leave a comment here, because this behavior is shameful, but we can stop it. There is also a lady who connected with me two days ago and she is saying I'm lying. She says she was with M during the Skype interview, but I actually never saw her before. So maybe, you should pay attention even if she asks you to connect. Her name is Yasmin Irani. Thank you, Umberta

He and she contacted me too. They are not serious, she asked me; "Could you raise 300000 pounds approximately for the balance funding and also do the casting for the main female lead?". Well..... At best this must be a joke.
Thanks for sharing your experience too Kirsti. I really believe that if everyone who's been in contact with them share her experience, we can make them stop having not serious behavior!
If you are looking for work in horror films or any type of projects that might push the boundaries into the R rated territory, make a good reel that shows enough sex appeal (tasteful, not necessarily nude) to convey that you are comfortable with those type of performances. Any competent Director, Producer, or Casting Director should be able to spot your talent without needing to ask you to take off your clothes in an audition. I would also avoid Skype or internet auditioning altogether. When I began casting for my film I rented a professional audition space (as cheap as $10 per hour) to conduct my auditions. Anyone that is serious about their project would do this. It shows the talent that you take your production seriously and puts them at ease so they can be comfortable in a professional setting and focus on their performance. If the role requires nudity or anything that might make an actress uncomfortable on-camera this should be addressed up front before even conducting auditions at all. This way no one is wasting their time.
Yes you're right Brandon and thanks for your advice. sBut sometimes when the production and the talents are not in the same country, skype audition, at least at the beginning, can be useful. I had auditions through skype several times before and everything was ok. The only thing with Internet is that one must be even more careful.

Nice to see that both of these people are no longer on Stage 32. Sad part is they will likely be back with new names. Being part of an audition, it must have been hard to say no at first. Good for you for refusing the request under those circumstances.

Well done for refusing Umberta, hope it didn't upset you or quash your ambition.

Thank you Andrew and CJ for your comments. I'm happy to see that those people are no longer part of this network. And I do hope that if they come back or if there are other people like this, the other girls will say something, that's the proof we can help each other! :) And my ambition and willing to play are stronger than ever!! no matter what! ;)

Very unprofessional and pervy and it's all on him. I doubt he had a project to begin with, so you were right to refuse his request. Don't let it break your stride.

As mentioned here, both profiles have been deleted. Obviously, we have no tolerance for such behavior. And, as Pierre mentioned (and thank you as always, Pierre), if something like this arises, you can contact me directly. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
