I have always been a Christian, growing up in the church with my family. I never thought I would make glorifying God a full time job, but now it's all I LIVE for. My days of being the BIG rock, country, or movie star have long since passed. (I am in the wrong era)

Perhaps we can work together in some way to make more of these films to reach the un-churched. I have never been one big on preaching to the choir. You do know, to reach the un-churched you have to show truth without being preachy at all, showing the bad and the ugly, the horrible in real life, and un-fortunately these type of films you can't get the support of the usual Christian audience behind your project, as for some reach the typical Christian seems to want to put their head in the sand in regards to the very real world in which they live. Not necessarly in the sand, they just don't want you to show it, I think you will feel what I am saying

Wow, I would be very careful Matthew about using "Jesus" and "propaganda" in the same sentence. That borders on blasphemy. Jesus Christ was not a 60's hippie I believe many in California and the world view him that way that is a BIG reason our nation is in the shape it's in, heading to "hell in a hand basket", and on a collision with the wrath of God. I would never work on any project that twists the word of God just to please or suit the ever changing secular audiences of the world.

Jesus and "religious propaganda" should never be used in the same sentence. Many could take offense to that.

Jesus is "THE Savior" of the world whether the world wants to accept that or not. Conforming Jesus (THE Son of the living, most high God) so that audiences will accept him, or make him more likable and less offensive to those who are living in "sin" and debauchery does in fact border on blasphemy. Sorry if you feel that is "religious propaganda". Many blessings.

To answer your question little god(s) are mentioned in the Bible. A person can make a god out of anything sports stars, rap stars, celebrities, golden calves, their wives, their house, their cars, their material possessions...etc. God tells us not to do this it is idolatry,

If you REALLY believed in God you would believe that the Holy Bible is "THE" written word of God, and not man. Secondly I did not judge you, Jesus will do that...I expressed concern for you due to the statements you did in fact make. Which to me bordered on blasphemy, or at least harsh criticism of The Holy Bible. The only projects I work on are ones that glorify God, and where the "good guy" wins. America has gotten to the point where all it wants to do is glorify the satanic, and the perverted. Because there is BIG money in it.

I hear ya Darrell. What about a character that is two different species that prays every day and, even though she feels that God should not allow her to be because He didn't make her, she stills follows His example of being good.

Well Jennifer, I don't compromise when it comes to God. The "two different species" character sounds like it would pay more homage to Satan than it would to God. Hollywood and the entertainment industry has totally perverted the lines between that which is good, and that which is evil. Largely due to the fact that millions today are in love with evil, and it's a huge money maker, and it encourages audiences to feel some kind of sympathy for the evil, tormented, character.

Sorry. But not hardly. The main character is part human and part cat. She knows that God made both cats and humans but not combined. She considers herself an abomination. However, because of her unforeseen friendship, she begins to realize that she isn't. One line that is in the script, after she saved the secondary character and got hurt for it, asked God why. "Of all good things you create, why make hate? " I agree with you completely. That is why I wrote a script like this. The main character instinctually does good because of her strong belief in God. That is what she was taught growing up in a hospital.

Besides, my other is an ex nun. If I had any satanic crap in it, she'd kicked rear so hard, I wouldn't be able to sit for a month. I also feel that a character that is not human, shouldn't be anti-faith.

Well Jennifer, you have your own free will to write any kind of script "you want" to. But is it what God wants, or is it what "you want"? Are you trying to please God or yourself? Or just trying to please Hollywood producers?

So "not hardly" that.

Best of luck to you. Just add lots of perverted sex into the script and I'm sure it will be a box office smash. Don't forget violence, anger, hate, profanity, lust, and all the other ingredients that go into a box office hit these days.

If you such a man of God as you claim to be, you are way too judgmental of people. If you are as familiar with the Bible, then you know that has a lot of violence. No matter what anyone does, human will always be violent.

Hi Darrell. I feel the same way...I've been writing family-fiction novels for several years and just recently adapted a science-fiction/espionage thriller into a screen play. After years of clenching my teeth when my children and I were watching something with inappropriate scenes or language, I decided I wanted to join those offering an alternative.

I am Darrell, that is why my screenplay is faith-based.

Amen Lendell, maybe I am too living in the 70's, when Clint Eastwood was chasing down murders as Dirty Harry, or John Wayne was still popping out movie classics like true Grit, and Big Jake. Brad Pitt just doesn't do it for me.

I am not an actor by trade, but I will work on projects that glorify God, Hollywood today has gone "TOTALLY" satanic, and will never get any of my money.

Thanks for posting this... I am just starting out as a filmmaker, and this is something I struggle with. eventually I hope to develop projects that have a strong faith foundation, are well written and produced, and that can resonate with both Christians and the world at large. Until then, it can be a bit of a struggle...

Check out "God's Not Dead" it gives hope for spiritually based movies. I am currently writing one about gambling but it will have adult content but the protagonist is saved by God in the end....not supernaturally but through faith.

I completely agree Darrell- It is my vision to write movies that are good for your soul, as apposed to tormenting it with more confusion that usually leads to more heartache for everyone involved.

I saw "Heaven is Real" Marilyn and it was very good, this is why I want my faith-based screenplay to be on the big screen one day. I want to see God Is Not Dead next.

It is very difficult for me to get into the new "Christian movies" because Hollywood is ULTRA liberal these days. It all to common to see a Christian actor do a Christian (family) movie then see them do a movie promoting violence, evil and perversion.

I watched "Heaven is Real" for the second time while sitting near my father lying ill on a hospital Bed on New Year's Day. As I watched, I was praying at the same time. His case was critical, but I saw him struggling to pray the rosary even at his semi conscious state. The following day 2nd January 2015, I went into his coffee farm to help harvest. During the Harvest I remembered The movie once more and it sparked a new thought dimension in me. I remembered the commandment "Honor Your Father and Your Mother and you shall live long" I remembered "Thy Will be done" I realized how we have been having a glimpse of Heaven in the concept of "Home" yet keeping a blind eye to it. Because the world prefers violence, It is possible to use violent films to bring people to non violence, by the way we arry our stories to the end.

God is Almighty indeed. I always try to put God in all my scripts because God is always present in our lifes even when we don't think about it. We need a change in our vision how we see the world.
