Karlina Veras is a British Latinx writer|director living in London. Her work focuses on female empowerment and the underlays of everyday life. She takes inspiration from her homeland, the Dominican Republic. Her debut flash fiction collection in Spanish Yun-Yun, has been translated into Italian and she’s been published in numerous magazines and anthologies, including Archipiélago Inverosímil, Hostos Review, and Lips of Unfamiliar Skin. Her short film Pretty Fly for a Doña, won the First-Time Director award at the Dreamer’s Short Film Festival 2022 and has been shortlisted to the Latina International Film Festival 2022.
