About Jennifer

I’m a fourth generation native Angeleno born in East LA to a single mom and wacky grandparents. My mom never went to college and worked at McDonald’s, where my dad was a rich owner. He had a wife and kids and my mom was his mistress for 13 years. They were like a secret 1980s fast food empire Ken and Barbie. And that’s how I, fondly known as “The McBaby,” was born.

I’m a queer white poor kid from the hood, and my wildly diverse upbringing, life of reckless partying and colorful experience in film, art and performance gives my storytelling a fresh, weird and, at times, disturbing perspective. At its core though, I want my work to be compassionate, emotionally connected, relatable and thought-provoking.

I have a film degree from UC San Diego and have been writing and making films and art for the last decade. For the last five years I wrote, produced and performed in a series of controversial art films with world-renown artist Paul McCarthy, and I have written features and pilots spanning the genres of drama, dark comedy, stoner action comedy and horror.

I am currently pitching my pilot script Morning Star, developing my short Sweet Dreams Baby Girl as a feature, and developing my feature Drug Friends.
