SYNOPSIS:
A shy and lonely nine year old boy annoys his parents with his 'wimpy' behaviour. His parents send him away to his Grandparent's cottage at the seaside and tell him to 'toughen up or else". Liam's Grandfather loves to tell stories. He tells Liam folk stories about the fishing villages that surround them. Liam wants to hide away in his room and surround himself with his Grandad's books, but he is forced to go out and meet kids his own age. He sees kids on the beach having fun and playing, but they make fun of him leaving him more alone than ever. Whilst kicking about on the beach he spots a red stone on the beach. He pulls the stone out. A huge storm cloud appears over the beach. Liam seeks shelter in a small cave in the corner of the beach. As he waits for the storm to clear, he plays with the ruby. Suddenly the cave floor opens. Liam drops through. Once he has dusted himself down he realises he is lost. He's in the same place, but a different time. Will Liam manage to get home with the ruby? Or will its true owners get their hands on it again? The synopsis is still a little sketchy because I am still in the process of developing this project. I initially thought it was going to be a feature screenplay, but I'm now considering writing it as a TV series. I've already had very positive feedback on the first ten pages from Bryan O Malley from www.screenplayreaders.com and Pilar Allesandra from www.onthepage.tv. http://screenplayreaders.com/first-10-pages-ruby-bay-by-t-campbell/
