About Sam

SAM KITCHIN has been a professional actor for almost 30 years. This journey has taken him from the humblest of beginnings to feature films, national commercials, Broadway and beyond. Mr. Kitchin’s theatrical journey includes some of the following highlights. Broadway: Frozen (MCC), Jerry Springer the Opera (special event at Carnegie Hall). Off-Broadway: Frozen (MCC), The Trip To Bountiful (Signature). Regional: The Night of the Iguana (Berkshire Theatre Fest. w/ Linda Hamilton), Oscar and Felix (7 Angels Theatre), The Rainmaker (12 Miles West Theatre, Star Ledger Top Ten NJ Plays of 2005), Happy Hour (12 Miles West, World Premiere w/ Heather Tom), To Kill A Mockingbird, (Arkansas Repertory Theatre), Don’t Dress for Dinner (Caldwell Theatre), Music Man (Royal Palm Dinner Theatre), Man of La Mancha (Actor’s Playhouse) to name a few. Film: On the big screen, Mr. Kitchin has appeared in a number of feature films including Show me a Hero, Mildred Pierce, Arbitrage, The Messenger, Across The Universe, No Reservations, The Hoax, The Truman Show and Holy Man. TV appearances include “The Onion Sports Dome,” “Law and Orders,” “L and O Criminal Intent,” “L and O SVU,” “The Late Show,” “The Sopranos,” “30 Rock,” “Whoopi,” “Third Watch,” “One Life To Live,” “All My Children,” and “Guiding Light.” As a successful commercial actor Mr. Kitchin appeared in over 75 national and regional commercials (Aleve, Edward Jones, Safeway, McDonald’s, Burger King, Marriot, 1-800 Flowers just to name a few). Mr. Kitchin is a long standing vested member of both Sag-Aftra and AEA.

As a teacher Mr. Kitchin ran his own successful training program in Sparta, NJ entitled, Alpine Arts, where he taught numerous group and private classes to young people and adults for 4 years. Mr. Kitchin also taught various classes while on staff at the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts in Bloomfield, NJ from 2006-2009 in addition to various freelance teaching assignments in NY and NJ over the years.

Presently, Mr. Kitchin is fully engaged in writing and developing scripts for Film and TV. The Refused marks Mr. Kitchin’s first completed script and is intended as a pilot for an episodic in development. Mr. Kitchin is just beginning his second feature script under the working title, The Trainer.
