Niloufar Lamakan is an award-winning author and debut screenwriter living in London. Her novel, SWIPING AT 60, won the Commendation Award at the Comedy Women in Print Prize 2023. It was also a finalist in the 2022 Page Turner Awards in both the Book and Book Adaptation for Screen categories. The novel is a well-timed portrayal of a sixty-year-old female protagonist in a lead romantic comedy role. By creating an age-positive female character, Niloufar is perfectly in tune with the current zeitgeist around representation of older women. She has adapted the novel into a mini-series and created the TV pilot screenplay, which was a finalist at the Stage 32 Romantic Comedy Screenwriting Contest 2023.
As an artist Niloufar has shown her work at numerous exhibitions and was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Her first interior design project won an award at the International Design Awards, and her work has been featured in many glossy magazines. She is currently working on her second novel set in a dance school.
