Early Years for Author David Seuss
Yes, there really is a Seuss. In fact, there are several hundred Seuss family members that exist in the United States that have emigrated over from Germany. David was born and raised in the Hawkeye State in a small town. He grew up as like any other normal child would have with two brothers. David was a middle child who began his art work at the age of 4 in Marshalltown, Iowa. His mother, Catherine V. (Blotsch) Sease-Seuss still has a drawing that he made of his parents kissing. David has a unique talent in art from a young age and is a natural style that resembles another Seuss style. His father was a factory worker, which had worked two to three jobs in order to provide for his family. They never went without while growing up in the Midwest.
Later, He finished high school and followed his older brother Brad by joining the Marines and throughout his 8 years in the military became well known for his artistic abilities, but he left the Marines after the end of the Gulf war in 1991 as a decorated war vet and went back to Iowa to attend a community college studying computer science. Under the pressure of his dad to earn a degree in something other than art, David had utterly failed and dropped out of college, then left for California to pursue other aspirations.


Later Years
15 years later he began making books and developing characters influenced by his own children with their medical illnesses and challenges. If not for his children talking him into making his stories and going to Hollywood, David may have never used his talent ever again.
David also went on tours with popular bands into Vegas and would draw his Seuss characters and designs on Guitars, shirts, napkins, skateboards, baseballs and this was encouraged by a good friend, Rick Kincer, friends with Kerry Kelli Guitarist for Alice Cooper. He can draw on any surface big or small within seconds. That is what got the books started and the name mr. doolee doo that stands for doodles.

The dictionary meaning for DooLee Doo is:
doo·ly Show Spelled [doo-lee] noun, plural -lies. (in India) a simple litter, often used to transport sick or wounded persons.
doo [du] n (Life Sciences & Allied Applications /Animals) a Scot word for dove, pigeon.

David Seuss has incorporated this meaning into his pen name and adopted the meaning as his purpose for writing stories about disabilities and sending this message around the world.
