About JJ

JJ Moon is a writer/producer living in Los Angeles, and she’s really good at killing people (on the page). She has a passion for writing thrillers that explore the intersections between science, metaphysics, abnormal psychology, and murder... but finds she also loves writing about love and holiday magic with a sprinkle of mystery and cheer (to balance out all the murdering). She enjoys creating quirky characters in strong, female-driven stories.

She earned her degree in Theater and Arts and went on to work as a medic, physiotherapist, and musician (versatility: it’s a Gemini thing). After moving to LA twenty years ago, she jumped right into working in film and TV as an intern turned writer, producer, and script supervisor. She currently works for Showrunner CAROL MENDELSOHN, assisting Carol by writing, giving psychic readings, and developing on multiple CMP projects. She also works with SHAUN PICCININO of Piccinino Pictures as a writer, producer, and script supervisor.

Her script, CATALINA CHRISTMAS, made it to the Finals of the Stage 32 Holiday
Movies Screenwriting competition.

She’s currently in pre-production for one of her thrillers, What The Heart Wants, at Interdependent Pictures.

Jessica produced an independent documentary film, GASHOLE (available on Amazon and Tubi). She’s been a volunteer Mentor for the Young Storytellers Program in Los Angeles, which teaches kids in underserved communities how to write their own stories. And she has a daughter who, luckily, is truly awesome and whom she has promised not to sell to gypsies.

Unique traits: Odd sense of humor. Talks to dead people (they need friends too). Used to be a paramedic. Spent time in India - meditating (because - well - life). Surrendering to life daily. Loves putting words on paper - sometimes they are coherent. Gemini (do you really need to know more? LOL).
