Victoria Rose Sampson

Victoria Rose Sampson is a writer/director and film and sound editor. She has been a renowned Feature Film Sound Editor since 1973. With over 166 titles of sound work, some of her credits include the Kevin James feature Here Comes The Boom, Sex and the City I and II (feature films), The Fighter, Scream 4, Pirates of the Caribbean:Curse of the Black Pearl, Old Dogs, Wild Hogs, Hot Tub Time Machine, as well as Speed, Frailty, Donnie Darko, For the Boys, The Rose, The River, On Golden Pond, Ordinary People, New York, New York and Return of the Jedi.
Ms. Sampson is a graduate of the AFI’s acclaimed Directing Workshop for Women. She also guest lectures about sound aesthetics at AFI, UCLA and USC. She is a member of The Alliance of Women Directors where she serves on its Board of Directors.

She teaches post-production sound at Video Symphony in Burbank and has taught classes at USC, AFI and UCLA on the value of sound’s contribution to story. She has guest lectured at the LA Final Cut Pro Users Group and has conducted two webinars for Moviola Digital. (#.URtHKOhkIxc)

She is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, as well as the Motion Picture Editors Guild, Local 700 of the IATSE.
