Doug Karr has been creating award winning independent films and commercials since 1997. The writer of eleven feature length screenplays, his script My Thermonuclear Family won the Grand Prize at the 2007 Filmmakers International Screenplay Competition. His films have been seen by audiences around the world and on numerous television channels. Karr’s Ten For Grandpa, premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and has gone on to screen at over 50 international film festivals, winning multiple awards. Karr’s latest film, Art Machine, stars Joseph Cross (Milk, Flags of Our Fathers, Running with Scissors), Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl, Piranha 3D) and Joey Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy, Big Daddy). He has also directed award winning commercials and branded content, with multiple nods from AdWeek"s Top 10 branded spots of the week and a pair of 2014 Cannes Lions (Gold & Silver) for a Gray/TNT spot. Karr is the director of Pie Face Pictures in NYC and is represented by Epicenter Management and Martone Mgmt on the commercial side.
