David Porter is a young, small-town pastor who has it all together and thinks he has all the answers, until his wife dies, leaving him with two small children, but his situation worsens when he meets Julia, an agnostic with tragedy in her own past. He must find his way through grief to save his ministry.

SYNOPSIS:

(Non-produced screenplay) David Porter is a small town pastor who has it all together and thinks he has all the answers, until his wife dies suddenly. He doesn't understand why God would allow it to happen and begins to question everything he has believed. Months go by. His work suffers and he has trouble with the children, especially eight-year-old Davy, who runs away from home at one point. When he meets Julia, an agnostic with tragedy in her own past, his confusion deepens, but he and Julia are drawn to one another because of their similar histories. The church and especially the head deacon is not sympathetic to David's grief process. David must find his way through his own dark night of the soul so he can save his ministry.
