Tamara Taylor

Tamara Taylor is an American screenwriter and producer. She made her first contribution to film as Producer of the award-winning documentary short film Astronaut Starbright (2018) directed by her eldest daughter Lana Taylor.

Taylor was born the youngest of two children. She resides in North Florida where she supports the continuing efforts of her two artistic daughters. Lana is studying film in college and her youngest, Halle Taylor, performs in local plays/musical theater productions; is involved in local-area commercials, student films, and independent short films; and will pursue college for a degree in theater.

Taylor was born the youngest of two children to Cynthia, a college Financial Aid officer, and George Boldridge, a Hallmark Cards District Manager. Her heritage consists primarily of African American and Nicaraguan descent with traces of Mosquito Indian from Belize. Her family moved to a different city each time her father was promoted in the field and, as a result, she was raised between Naperville, Illinois; Carmel, Indiana; and Jacksonville, Florida. In high school Taylor was involved in cross country and track, having been a varsity member of two different state championship teams. Taylor attended the University of Florida where she majored in Food Science and Human Nutrition. She participated in intramural flag football, greek like, and graduated in 2002 (after changing her major from Chemical Engineering). Before she became interested in writing/producing, Taylor earned her MBA from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and supported herself primarily by working in Customer Service and Product Development for software companies. Having written plenty of technical work instructions and training documentation, Taylor become accustomed to writing on a regular basis but longed to do more creative, story-driven work. Having grown up in different parts of the country, often commuting back/forth between suburban schools and urban churches, Taylor developed the ability to empathize and connect with people from all walks of life from an early age. She looks to incorporate tidbits of her life experience to help tell pointed stories that resonate with audiences.

She is transitioning to working permanently in the role of full time writer/producer... hoping to successfully make the switch from technical writing in software to creative writing/producing in the film industry.
