Born in Southfield, Michigan, Eunique Hansel split her maturation between Metro Detroit and Las Vegas, Nevada. A lifelong writer and daughter of Howard University, Eunique takes great pride in creating from the unique perspective of a Black queer woman. Groomed and guided by the work of Black women writers like Toni Morrison, Mildred D. Taylor, and Alice Walker, the goal of Eunique’s work is to limn long-shadowed points of view through television and film. Having seen the world from many lenses as an employee of a sneaker brand that still dominates her closet, a fast-fading but long-loved retail chain and most significantly as a special educator, creating an accessible and joyous world for her students, Eunique believes there are still many words and worlds worth visualizing. It is her passion to make something where there was nothing with her imagination, her hands, or a pen.
