About Ulrich
Ulrich Goetz is a writer, director, and artist based in Berlin, Germany. With an academic background in philosophy and German studies—specializing in entertainment media such as radio plays, films, comics, and video games—he honed his filmmaking skills at filmArche Berlin e.V., Europe's largest self-organized film school. As a dedicated alumnus, he continues to contribute by serving on its council of elders.
Ulrich is a firm believer that all great films and TV series should entertain while offering something substantial. He aligns with Michael Eisner's credo that “to make money, it is often important to make history, to make art, or to make some significant statement.”
He is committed to revitalizing the proud tradition of German genre films, not by imitating the classics, but by honoring their essence.
In his scriptwriting, Ulrich employs techniques from John Truby, Dan Harmon, and Gustav Freytag, among others, while also developing his own tools. He is fascinated by the limitless possibilities of worldbuilding, intuitive creativity, immersion, the psychology of flow, and transmedia storytelling.

WIZARDS VS BARBARIANS Fantasy ⋄ Comedy In a fantasy world where scientists are wizards, a professor of anthropology at the magical university tries to save his faculty from getting defunded by initiating an experimental study on the behavior of barbarian warriors, which puts him and his students in danger of getting killed by their very test subjects, who consider them to be evil.
