“Skilled,” a film that addresses the skilled trade labor shortage and image problem that discourages younger generations from pursuing these critical jobs. Premiered at Sundance last month and tells the story of Anni Martinez, a stay-at-home mom of four before being offered a job to clean film sets. Through curiosity about those working around her, and a desire to learn and grow, she transitioned to lighting and worked her way up to a supervisor level, and one of the most sought-after gaffers in the industry.
