Deana Williams

Deana Williams is a quirky queer writer/director living in Los Angeles, CA. Deana began writing scripts when she was in 6th grade. She followed her dream to Miami, Florida where she studied film at AI Miami International University of Art & Design. Deana worked as a manager for the film equipment room at Miami Dade College’s School of Entertainment & Design Technology while also teaching Camera and Lighting for the Florida Film Institute. Deana co-developed and produced both Name Dropping, the frustratingly fun movie card game and Miami Curves Week, a plus size fashion event during Swim Week on Miami Beach. Deana has written, produced and directed several short films that have been selected in over 20 film festivals combined. Deana aims to leave the earth in better shape than she found it and she plans to do this through telling compelling stories from the vantage points of women, secularists, LGBTQ and minority communities. Only through humanizing these experiences can we really learn which in turn will make us better to one another.
