I’ve been telling stories of one kind or another as long as I could string words together. I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and lived all over the United States, from Virginia to Wisconsin. I now call the small town of Ottumwa, Iowa home. From my enlistment in the U.S. Navy after high school to managing a bar in my adopted hometown, I’ve held a variety of interesting jobs.
While defending truth, freedom, and the American way, I’ve also visited many strange lands, from the Azores in the Atlantic Ocean to Djibouti in Africa. My wife and I enjoy spending time with friends and our extended family. You can often find me telling stories about my travels, embarrassing situations, and other tall tales where ever I may be. My hobbies include world history, gaming, watching movies, listening to music, reading, and writing (especially science-fiction and fantasy). My favorite authors are Robert A. Heinlein, Piers Anthony, Frank Herbert, and J.R.R. Tolkien, Jack L. Chalker, Orson Scott Card, L. E. Modesitt, Jr., and Jim Butcher.
