While the Civil War rages, two free men of color from Louisiana one of whom can pass for white, are sent on a perilous journey to Washington to petition Lincoln for voting rights.
SYNOPSIS:
Based on a true story 1000 Creoles (free men of color) from New Orleans send two envoys, Arnold Bertonneau and J.B. Roudanez to petition Lincoln and Congress for voting rights before the end of the Civil War. But behind the scene, Lincoln and his cabinet members plot to resolve the "black" problem by encouraging free blacks and newly freed slave to emigrate back to Africa even as he meet with the envoys from New Orleans and their powerful friends in Congress
