A young, eager actress moves to NYC and lands a job as a personal assistant to a lonely, antiquated actress, which gives her an eye into the sacrifices and uncanny parallels between the aspiring actress and the aging actress.
SYNOPSIS:
After the death of her mother, graduate student Jessica moves to New York City to seek her fame and fortune as an actress. In efforts to make ends meet, she lands a job as a personal assistant to a somewhat reclusive, antiquated actress. (Think "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "Sunset Boulevard.") As the two women get to know each other more on a personal basis, Jessica realizes the sacrifices and uncanny parallels between the aspiring actress and the aging actress in the world of entertainment, as well as a startling, unexpected commonality both women unknowingly share that may not just ruin their professional relationship, but permanently crumbled their growing friendship.

Th e ONLY two things I'd say about the logline is to 1)break it into two sentences and 2) end it after the word parallels. The last phrase feels (at least to me) like you're repeating yourself. The concept is cool!
Thank you, Matthew!

I really like the concept, Nicole Miller. I would watch this.
I think your logline needs just a little work. Here are two logline suggestions:
“After a young, eager actress moves to NYC and lands a job as a personal assistant to a lonely, antiquated actress, the young performer witnesses the sacrifices and uncanny parallels between the two women.”
“After a young, eager actress moves to NYC and lands a job as a personal assistant to a lonely, antiquated actress, the young lady witnesses the sacrifices and uncanny parallels between the two women.”

Never saw DEVIL, But I love SUNSET BLVD. This has that same vibe.

Hi, William! Yes, however, I wouldn't say that it is by any means a remake. I simply figured that the notion of the 60+ actress, and the ageism that often occurs, has not been tackled to any great extent since 1950.
