About Lorena

So I have a previous account with a formal email ladylyria777@ but that email no longer active. I have continued in costume design and Fashion design and have so much new work to share! It's going to take some time to upload. I am currently still operating Lady Lyria's Fashion Consulting in San Antonio and Uvalde TX. Becoming a substitute teacher in Uvalde 5 years ago and doing charity work via Fashion shows for El Progreso Memorial Library open the door ways for me to be an official costume designer for the Summer Fine Arts Academy at their highschool. I did costume Construction and teaching for Peterpan Jr, Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast. During Covid in 2020 I taught costume design online remotely. You can find videos on my TikTok accounts Lady Lyria and Lorena Auguste888. I also have work displayed on my old IG acct LadyLyria78801 as well as my new one Lyria Price. My YouTube channel is Lorena Auguste'.

  • Beauty & The Beast

    Beauty & The Beast (2022)
Theater by Summer Fine Arts Academy Ucisd Costume Designer & Wardrober This production last summer was far more challenging emotionally compared to the other three because at least 8 of the 19 children that died in the Robb massacre had auditioned for lead roles. When everyone learned of the total death toll UCISD temporarily closed and cancelled all programs for the Summer. If it weren't for Uvalde parents taking a survey with their children we may have never had the opportunity to still pull off production . Fortunately with 45 students re registered and recasting we did perform segments of Beauty and the Beast but also turned it into a Memorial service where the survivors got to share poetry , sing and dance to their friends favorite songs. We did this to commemorate our little actors and actresses that were no longer with us . I personally knew some of the children that died that day. Due to therapy and coping with trauma my work load in production was reduced to simply constructing for main characters such as Lumiere, CogsWorth, Belle, The Beast 2 separate looks. I also focused on assisting with accessories and all the other children directly had a hand in constructing their own looks . Fortunately as well our Director had a wardrobe collection of Villagers costumes for the students to wear so I was asked to do maintenance, light restoration, and alterations.

  • Wizard of Oz

    Wizard of Oz (2020 - 2021)
Theater by Summer Fine Arts Academy Ucisd Costume Designer & Wardrober Due to Covid and the global shut down I was approached by UCISD and offered to teach costume design and construction remotely via Google classroom. Students that registered would be invited to login with me to learn how to do costume illustration on their character of choice and then use their remaining logon time to actually be guided and consulted in constructing their costume with parents. This proved to be successful when we did a live show online via digital presentations through Google classroom.

  • Wizard of Oz Play

    Wizard of Oz Play (2021)
Theater by Summer Fine Arts Academy Ucisd Costume Designer & Wardrober Post Covid Schools reopened and They invited me back to work for the Summer program but this time we would do auditions and resume with full construction of 3 look mini wardrobes for 25 students and then construct 2 look wardrobe for the other 15 students. The remaining 15 students received costume rentals. I totalled in construction of 105 costumes for for 40 students in one month. This was the most I had ever constructed in a months time for any project. We also had two back to back shows for the students to perform live at the Uvalde Highschool Auditorium.
