About Lindsay

Lindsay Scola is a writer, producer, public speaker, and impact strategist living with narcolepsy. After staging her first walkout over unfair treatment in the lunchroom in first grade, Lindsay knew she was meant for a life in activism. In early 2007, she quit her job, bought a car, and moved to Iowa to work for then-Senator Barack Obama. Following President Obama's historic win in 2008, Lindsay joined the administration working for President and Michelle Obama, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, and UN Ambassador Susan Rice. Since then, Lindsay has nested her work at the intersection of advocacy and entertainment. Lindsay is the founder and CEO of AUDEAMUS where she couples creativity and actionable organizing with political savvy to shift the social needle; advising companies on social impact causes and helping nonprofits to authentically engage with artists and influencers. She has spoken about the power of television to move the social needle at the ATX Television Festival, SXSW, The Riveter, and was named a 2015 "40 Under 40" recipient for City and State New York. After experiencing symptoms for decades, Lindsay was diagnosed with narcolepsy at 35. She is passionate about patient advocacy and expanding conversations around rare diseases such as sleep disorders. She is a graduate of the Rising Voices of Narcolepsy program at Project Sleep, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about sleep health, sleep equity, and sleep disorders.
