I'm originally from rural Alabama. In the early 90's I joined the army and spent the next several years visiting vacation spots all over the world at taxpayer expense. Getting out in the early 2000's I tried my hand at waiting tables while I finished my education and then was a realtor. The real estate crash of 2008 brought that to a shuddering halt and since I'd grown really fond of eating I went back into the defense industry. I did sales and gear design (things like backpacks, tents and camouflage) to special mission units for the next 15 years. It was a blast (rimshot)! I closed my company in December of 2023 determined to make writing the way I earned my bread. I've published a handful of novels in the fantasy and historical fiction spaces and felt pretty confident. I'm a script writing rookie but am eager to learn! I've been told my voice (or lived experience) is primarily military so I weave soldiers into my stories. I have and am shopping scripts in all sorts of genres. Since I'm doing all this writing with no adult supervision once the muse strikes I'll write that story. My true loves are fantasy, science fiction and historical fiction. All of these are pretty easy to write if you're involving military characters.
If you have any questions, comments or witty observations hit me up. I'd love to chat.
Unique traits: At one time I could get by in 11 languages. I wasn't fluent in many of them other than German but I've always loved studying languages and other cultures. They are hard to maintain when you live in Alabama but given the slightest chance I'll learn or unearth my knowledge of tongues other than English.
