My career path lately is in full stack development and game development, focusing primarily on Unreal Engine and Unity for game dev, though I am still new to the industry itself. I am also a part time student at University of Maryland Global Campus in pursuit of my bachelors in computer science.
I discovered my passion for games 20 years ago, creating stories and experiences with acquired assets so I could focus less on the art and more on the game. It was a few years after that when I discovered I also like creating video content, starting off with a little web series on a now-defunct video platform based on a pirate puppet named Scruffy who would teach us about pirate history and pirate lingo. It was never more than a hobby at that point, as my professional career was still basically retail and customer service.
Years later, I was able to intern at Amazon Customer Service with their media department to help with video editing, from their quarterly All-Hands meetings to content creation for the TVs around the call floor.
It was 2022 when I got to put together a small video entry for the KitBash3D-sponsored contest “Mission to Minerva”. While I didn’t get an award (after seeing those that did, I understand why), I still had fun doing it. Now I am taking free courses where I can find them on cinematography, lighting, scripting, and music-for-film because I believe I have the potential to create some amazing content.
