James Brenton

I am an Indiana native, and I have been in the television and video industry since 1999, but I've had a video camera in my hand since middle school. I have always loved movies. Growing up, if I wasn't watching the latest greatest action flick, my buddies and I were knee deep in the blood and guts of 80s horror movies. Good or bad they were always a fun watch.

Fast forward to the start of my career, I was a production assistant on the feature film Killer Instinct, starring Dee Wallace and Corbin Bernsen. I have worked in broadcast TV, corporate video, commercial and music video productions. I started First Frame Productions, in 2010 and I have been working as a freelance shooter, editor, writer and producer ever since.

In 2018 I was asked to join the crew of the indie horror film "HP Lovecraft's Witch House" as the director of photography and co-editor. After a successful year with 17 international festival wins, it was finally distributed on DVD and streaming services around the world!

Recently I have jumped back into script writing. Working with 2 different writing partners, I have a horror anthology script called "The Amulet" and a sci-fi script called "The Annexation of Life" currently on the festival circuit.

I am looking forward to making connections with other like-minded people in the industry. Keep creating!
