SYNOPSIS:

Concordia, USA, present day. JOHNATHAN KIMBLE and AMELIA DELANO are neighbors that hate each other. Johnathan is a councilman, running for his step-father’s (HENRY WOOLWORTH) position. Amelia runs the local animal shelter, overflowing with pit bulls following a new ban Johnathan and Henry have proposed. She decides the only way to stop the ban is from within, and announces her campaign for mayor. However, she doesn’t have the resources Johnathan does, and so she has to rely on OLD BILL and his biker group, THE REBELS, to become her campaign team. After losing his cat, Johnathan ends up saving Amelia at the shelter from a BUYER who’s hooked on drugs. This is the first seed planted in their budding romance. The first debate of the election happens, and Amelia wins. When Amelia’s celebration makes the front page of the newspaper the next morning, and she finds out the shelter is a full capacity with pit bulls, she marches with her team and supporters to city hall, hosting an adoption event. Johnathan and Henry are there, and have her arrested. Out of guilt, Johnathan bails her out. The next night is the election banquet, where a reluctant Amelia and an encouraging Johnathan dance together. Henry sees this, and strong-arms Johnathan into crushing Amelia at the next debate. The next, and final, debate happens. Johnathan uses the topic of gun control against Amelia, as she has strong yet mixed feelings on it. Johnathan wins, and goes to Old Bill’s Bar for a celebratory drink. There he finds Amelia, alone, and nursing her wounds. He convinces her to let him walk her home. Old Bill follows from a distance, and sees the moment the dam finally breaks. Amelia and Johnathan kiss. After spending the night together, Amelia visits Old Bill’s, only to find him and Henry there. In an attempt to protect Amelia from Johnathan, Bill handed over security footage of Amelia drunkenly punching Johnathan the night before. Henry blackmails her into dropping out. During her announcement, the Buyer shoots Amelia’s mascot, a pit bull named MAMA. This sparks riots, the town divided by the two political opponents. Johnathan finds out the Henry blackmailed Amelia, losing all respect for him. Johnathan goes to find Amelia, but gets caught by rioters and beaten. Old Bill rescues him. In the hospital, Amelia visits Johnathan, who tells her the he’s dropping out. Since Amelia never finished announcement, she’s still in the running, and becomes the mayor of Concordia, with Johnathan by her side.
