Lynette Willoughby

Lynette has been an author and freelance photojournalist for most of her working life.
During Covid she wrote a crime novel set on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula - where the desert meets the wild headlands of the Southern Ocean.
It is renown for its bluefin tuna, Coffin Bay oysters and the Great White Sharks who patrol the famous surfing breaks.
The history of the area is lesser known; particularly the site of an Aboriginal massacre by European settlers in 1849.
With family ties to the Wirangu tribe, Lynette was inspired to write a story that would not only entertain, but also educate.
The compelling landscape and strong visuals lends itself to the screen, and Lynette is working on a serialized drama, based on her novel.
It has been a steep learning curve, but the transition to screen writing has given her new energy and motivation.

Her next project is a feature based on the true story of a man with Asperger's who becomes a whistleblower when he discovers the truth about operations inside a secretive religious cult.
