Şebnem Gökçen-Çiçek

I am a retired Creative Director/Art Director and the co-founder of a boutique creative agency of 15 years. I started off my advertising career during the dot-com boom and bust years in San Francisco where I worked at pioneering agencies of the time as Designer and Art Director. I moved back to my hometown, Istanbul, in the early 2000's and had a chance to work with such clients specializing in the child-development, wind energy and gaming industries. I've found rather late in life that the reason I enjoyed creating ads was because I loved metaphors and storytelling. My first book, a collection of short stories in Turkish, was published in August 2022. I hold a BA in Communication from UPenn and a BFA in Advertising Design from Academy of Art University.
