Harsh Mahadeshwar

Harsh Mahadeshwar is a Scientist turned Full-time Filmmaker who traveled from Mumbai, India, to Lubbock, Texas, for his graduate studies at Texas Tech University. There, he identified genomic signatures that vary between species of mammals. The objective: to better understand the gene material’s evolutionary descent. After, he was able to expand upon his graduate training from basic science to applied research at biotechnology industries & institutes like Harvard Medical / Dana-Farber Cancer, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Baylor College of Medicine.
While writing his Master’s thesis he developed his interest in writing. However realizing he needs a team to film his written stories and fascinated about how films are made he started learning the nitty gritty of photography as films are basically MOVING PICTURES. Harsh eventually enrolled in a film course in Harvard Medical School while working there as a scientist.
He then assisted several departments of local filmmaking from PA to Ad to Writer to Cinematography to Directing. After understanding the principles of filmmaking , crew culture the equipments needed he invested in a mid scale production in Houston and started his own film rental. He also started working as a Cinematographer right before pandemic and shot a Telugu feature film called Naathicharami ( 35 day production ) in Virginia. With his vision as a Director he is also thorough about the technical requirements from his cinematography team to choice of lenses and camera and lighting needed.
Harsh has written and directed over 50 social media short films and music videos. Some of them have crossed over 50 million views. He is currently working on writing his first feature film aimed to release in late 2022. He worked as a dialogue writer for a Pan Indian film ( Primary Telugu ) to be released soon.
Many of the short films Harsh has created have won notable awards such as: Best film India Film Project 2018, Best Film 48 Hour Film Project 2017 Houston, Best Film 48 Hour Film Project 2019 Indianapolis.
