About Mike

Mike's experience with voice and data communications began in 1986, when he began work for the "Tom-Carroll Company", a partnership owned by Tom Wimberly and Carroll Collier. The company focused on the design and installation of voice and data structured cabling systems and served the greater Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio areas.
The company offered Lundgren a wide range of training in state-of the-art networking which included at the time, ThickNet, Token Ring, AppleTalk,
Twinax,RS-232, Wang; and other systems which preceded current networking solutions.
Lundgren remained at Tom-Carroll until 1989 when he accepted a position as lead technician for "Data Aids" headquartered in Oak Hill (west Austin) which specialized in fiber optics design and installation in the San Antonio area.
In 1990, Lundgren returned to Austin to work at Capital Mechanical, a diverse plumbing and construction company that completed many Polybutylene conversions while maintaining commercial air conditioning and irrigation systems. At Capital Mechanical, Lundgren gained experience in many areas of construction.
In 1991, Lundgren was approached by the owner of "Weigh Systems Inc.," an Austin based company that designs and builds patented weight, measurement, and control systems for commercial concrete mixing plants. Lundgren accepted a position as "systems engineer" for Weigh Systems where he built customized interfaces, (CPU type control boards) for batch concrete weighing systems.
In 1993, Lundgren moved to Carroll Systems, successor to Tom-Carroll Company, where he became a lead fiber-optics technician.

In 1997, Lundgren became the on-site manager for Carroll Systems at Computer Science Corporation, "CSC" in Austin. In his new roll, Lundgren designed, built, installed and maintained CSC's ever increasing "structured cabling" requirements.
In 1998, while working for Carroll Systems, Lundgren was asked by CSC to design a superior "Cable Management Rack", for their new downtown Austin headquarters (click here to view). Lundgren's design adds flexibility and aesthetics to network systems upgrades. Seventy of these improved management racks are in service today at CSC and are manufactured by AFCO Systems of Farmingdale, New York with the part number carrying Lundgren's initials.
In April of 1999, Carroll Systems became a subsidiary of (IES), "Integrated Electrical Services" of Houston, NYSE symbol "IES". Shortly thereafter, Carroll Systems on-site contract with CSC ended with CSC's move to it's new Austin headquarters.
Following the CSC move, Lundgren resumed duties as a project manager at Carroll Systems headquarters where he wrote and negociated many successful competitive bids and managed numerous jobs for Caroll Systems.
In 2001, after almost a decade of service to Carroll Systems, Lundgren made the difficult decision to leave the company and seek new opportunities. He was immediatly offered a parternship in Total Access Networks, Inc., where he designed and built wireless infrastructures in the Central Texas towns of Elgin, Bastrop, and Giddings.
In the spring of 2002, Lundgren formed the company "Ideal Solutions" and its web-based counterpart, www. and quickly secured wired and wireless cabling contracts with a fast growing lists of well known clients.
Mr. Lundgren's years of experience in high tech systems design and construction are available to your business in the Austin, Dallas/Ft Worth,
San Antonio, and Houston metros.
