Josefina Valenzuela Cerda

Originally from Chile, Josefina is a multi-hyphenate creator who writes for TV, film, and immersive media about anti-heroines—often unconventional and conflicted women—who battle expectations to reclaim their narratives and salvage hope. With an MFA in Writing for Screen & Stage and a BA in Film Directing, her work includes award-winning projects like The Mirror (Best VR/360 Film, Barcelona Planet Film Festival), Waybrel (Script2Comic Finalist), and plays featured by Chicago Dramatists and Idle Muse Theatre. Drawing on her Latina heritage, passion for history, and global travels, Josefina blends the fantastical with the deeply human to craft stories where her characters grasp for the light of hope within darkness, rage when rage is forbidden, and emerge from chaos not polished but transformed. Based in Los Angeles, she is eager to continue her journey.
