About Sophia
I'm an award-winning filmmaker with over a decade of experience directing and editing short-form scripted and documentary projects. The pilot episode of WHO’S ANNIE?, a comedy series I’m creating, co-writing, and directing, premiered at Slamdance 2023, has screened at festivals such as Raindance, Mammoth, SF Indiefest, and Berlin Series Festival, and has won over 20 awards including Best Director at Seriesfest. The Gotham, Shore Scripts, and Screencraft have supported my screenwriting and my short films have been shown at the Whitney, Hauser & Wirth, The Queens Museum, and MoMa. My extensive portfolio of music videos has engaged millions of viewers for artists such as Paramore, Julien Baker, The National, Interpol, Yeasayer, and Junior Boys. I'm currently developing several new series, including a doc/scripted hybrid about a former designer drug dealer.
Unique traits: I experiment with conventions and create visual content that effortlessly balances artistic austerity with meme-worthy humor.
