Simon Alveranga

I have been working in film and television for over 20 years. Starting in documentary, I worked my way up to Producer/Director, creating a RTS-nominated First Cut for Channel 4 and PDing on the first season of 24 hours in A&E.

Around this time, my side hustle creating commercials and music videos started to gain traction so, I dedicated the next 12 years of my life to the company I co-founded, We Are Kash LTD.

As Head of Production, I oversaw a huge body of work ranging from cinema commercials to branded content campaigns, employing animators, editors, producers and directors as well as engaging a huge network of freelancers.

Just before Covid, I started a film project to teach young people from the same kind of socioeconomic background as me how to produce film. Around this time I consciously began getting more involved in narrative production.

I am now trying to learn everything I can about scripted narrative production with a view to developing and producing features and HETV. As part of this journey I have been producing short films through my new company, Naught Films.

My last short film was accepted by over 10 film festivals including New York Indie Shorts, Hollyshorts and the BAFTA-qualifying Bolton Film Festival and is currently screening on Omeleto. My latest film, starring Vikash Bhai and Rakhee Thakrar is beginning its festival run.

I currently have a comedy drama series in development and a feature documentary.
