About Joanna

Joanna Garzilli was born under celestial circumstances to mother, Vanessa Harris at St. George's Hospital next to Buckingham Palace in London. Her father, real estate developer and art collector David Garvin, celebrated her arrival by setting off fireworks at Hyde Park Corner and requesting an "Old Fashioned Love Song" be played on BBC Radio 2.

A Scorpio and Year of the Rat, Joanna grew up in the artistic Hampstead neighborhood, walking her West Highland Terrier, Julius on weekends. An only child, she took to the spotlight at an early age, making her television debut at 4 years old on BBC1’s "Play School" as Dopey in Snow White. By 10, she was commanding the stage as The Sultan in “Ali Baba and The Forty Thieves”.

Joanna's childhood was steeped in creativity. The first movie she saw in theaters was “Star Wars” at the iconic Odeon Leicester Square. She's watched Bruce Lee's “Enter the Dragon” over 20 times, its martial arts philosophy awakening something in her spirit. As a teenage socialite on London's club scene, she became friends with Brad Pitt when they were first introduced on the dance floor at Iceni nightclub. Pitt set her up on a Valentine's Day date with Antonio Banderas during their time filming “Interview with a Vampire”.

This early brush with fame preceded a distinctly more cosmic calling. In 1996, Joanna experienced a profound spiritual awakening one night at the club Subterranea, igniting an inspirational meeting with the "Spoon Bending" magician, Uri Geller, at The London Psychic Fair. This set her on an intensive path of psychic development, traveling the world to sacred sites and studying with indigenous shamans. She fully immersed herself in the metaphysical arts, eventually becoming a Reiki Master Teacher.

Upon her return to London, Joanna, then going by her birth name, Joanna Garvin, melded her spiritual pursuits with her creative ambitions. She produced the independent movie "Brothers," filmed in 35mm in Greece and the U.K., securing national distribution to 60 cinemas and a sale to Channel 5. Joanna even had a cameo scene. During production, Sky TV's "Greece Uncovered" filmed behind-the-scenes footage for their show.

Another highlight was producing a documentary on Norman Paulsen, founder of Sunburst Farm & Sanctuary and the last direct living disciple of yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda. She collaborated with acclaimed editor Richard A. Harris, Academy Award winner for his work on Titanic. Though the controversial film ultimately remained vaulted per Paulsen's wishes, concerned about the portrayal of his community, this project opened a pivotal door. It led to a meeting with Jeff Berg, the CEO of ICM, who signed Joanna as a represented producer and writer.

In 2004, Joanna created and produced 250 episodes of the series "Psychic Interactive," hosting 150 of them Live on Sky TV. This boundary-pushing show established Joanna as a pioneer in paranormal programming and multi-dimensional thought. After the successful run of "Psychic Interactive," she pivoted to a more mainstream format, hosting the game show "Spin and Win" on Sky TV. But Joanna's soul yearned to converge her two callings. At the end of 2004, she relocated to Los Angeles, beginning to offer her psychic gifts. Soon, her unique perspective and metaphysical insight made her an in-demand spiritual counselor to actors, musicians, and industry influencers.

In 2005, Joanna met her husband Nick at The Next Stage Theater on Sunset and La Brea in Hollywood when they performed in a sketch comedy show directed by Chris Berube called "Don't Sweat the Minutia." That same year, she went on to play Madame JoJo in a Burlesque show and get representation with CAA’s alternative program department.

While honing her metaphysical gifts, Joanna never lost her creative drive. She trained at the Howard Fine Acting Studio, interviewing the legendary coach twice for her shows "Intuition Masters" and "Life Stories with Joanna Garzilli." She also interviewed actor Matthew Modine and collaborated on the Hyper Chariot transport concept.

Joanna's multi-hyphenate talents sparked a publishing deal with HarperCollins for her award-winning and bestselling book "Big Miracles: The 11 Spiritual Rules for Ultimate Success." She also penned "Unleash The Psychic In You" and "Scarlet's Confession: Tales of a British Psychic." Her TV appearances include MTV's "Next," "Parental Control," "Laker Girls," Bravo’s "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" and Hallmark Channel’s “Home and Family”.

From 2018-2019, Joanna hosted and produced 85 episodes of the soulful series "Life Stories with Joanna Garzilli," showcasing her insightful interview skills and ability to create resonant content.

In 2020, Joanna produced and hosted the YouTube series "Crypto Angel Network," which explored the emerging world of cryptocurrency. Her work garnered significant attention, culminating in a feature article on cryptocurrency addiction in The Washington Post.

Today, Joanna's greatest role is as a devoted wife to entrepreneur Nick Garzilli, and mother to their son Dominick - her "greatest gift." However, her passion for creativity and uplifting the human spirit through storytelling burns as bright as ever. With her unique renaissance background spanning Hollywood, the metaphysical realm, comedy, drama and passion projects across mediums, Joanna continues to create and collaborate with likeminded talent.
