Shania Banton, a proud New York native and a dynamic force in storytelling. As a Director, Writer, and Producer in TV, Film, Digital, and Commercial realms, her unwavering passion drives her career forward.

From her earliest days crafting short stories, Shania's focus has always been on eliciting powerful emotions through her work while celebrating the richness of Black American and Caribbean American culture. This dedication led her to establish Just Shania Productions, a company responsible for captivating independent shorts like "145-Days" (Revolt TV) and "SWITCH," (Amazon Prime) as well as scripted digital series such as "Waves," (Amazon Prime) which garnered acclaim in Spike Lee’s documentary “Da Republic of Brooklyn” and held the #1 spot on the esteemed streaming service, Kweli TV, for over two years.

Beyond her own production company, Shania has collaborated with industry giants including HBO, NETFLIX, MTV, REVOLT, 40 Acres and a Mule Films, Blacktag, Fiverr, and Squarespace, among others.

Drawing from her background and experiences, Shania has honed her directorial style to prioritize emotional resonance above all else. Influenced by her early fascination with soap operas, she excels at guiding actors to deliver performances that are authentic, relatable, and profoundly impactful in every creative endeavor she undertakes.

Currently she is directing and writing projects being executed in the next year as well as taking two of her recently produced films through a festival circuit.
