Μaria Lemesou

My name is Maria Lemesou. I come from Limassol, Cyprus, but I have been living in Athens, Greece, for the last 20 years. I studied in Athens from 1995-1998 film and television directing at the school of Lykourgos Stavrakos. After my graduation I returned to Cyprus. There I worked as an assistant to theater directors and as a director of amateur theater groups. In 2004 I decided to continue my studies and returned to Athens where I live until now. From 2004-2007 I studied acting at the modern theater of Athens, drama school of Giorgos Kimoulis.My participation as an actor is limited to short student films and some individual performances. This is because I did not persistently seek to join productions by going to auditions often and I slowly lost contact with the circle of creators. I have always loved to write. Since 2011 I have devoted myself more to it. I attended creative writing courses with Eleni Zioga,
Panos Stathoyiannis and Vassilis Vasilikos.I write poems and short stories.Some of my texts have been published in websites, literary magazines and poetry anthologie. I also upload frequently on my fb profile and to my website.Everything is written in Greek. I am interested in publishing them in a book at some point. I am also nterested, with the right guidance,getting into scriptwriting and playwriting but the language I write in is exclusively Greek and I imagine this is an obstacle. I wanted to join the community because I am interested in being informed about what the creators are doing on a global level and to get back in touch with them and their work. More than the art itself I love the creators.
