An eternal student-turned-teacher of ethics finds her entire worldview shaken when for the first time in her life she feels a deep bond forming with one of the last remaining homo sapiens sapiens--the very race  she herself had oppressed for millennia by flooding them with rules whose evolved descendents now rebel against her.
