Jonathan Sungishabo

Jonathan Sungishabo, a Congolese national from the Ituri province in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is a storyteller whose journey reflects resilience, creativity, and a deep passion for screenwriting.

Despite pursuing a scientific academic path, earning a degree in Mathematics and Physics from the Higher Pedagogical Institute of Bunia (ISP-BUNIA) in 2021, Jonathan’s love for literature and storytelling has been an integral part of his life. His early years were shaped by the turmoil of the Ituri ethnic war in 2002, leading him to complete his primary and secondary education across Nyankunde, Beni, and Bunia. While working as an assistant lecturer in Mathematics and Physics, his true calling lies in crafting compelling narratives for the screen.

Jonathan’s passion for writing was ignited during his secondary school years when a French literature lesson on the poem "Une allée simple de Luxembourg" deeply resonated with him. This moment sparked his interest in poetry, which gradually evolved into a strong dedication to narrative storytelling and screenwriting. Over time, he has honed his skills, writing scripts for TV series, short films, and feature-length productions, including "Behind the Appearances", "Beyond the Appearances", "Puzzle of Peace" an action film and the social drama series "Bitter Harvests".

His first book, "Confessions Anonymes", reflects his storytelling prowess. Written in an interactive format, the book explores real-life relationship challenges, inspired in part by a personal heartbreak in 2019 that fueled his creative journey. His ability to blend introspection with engaging narratives is evident in his screenplays, which emphasize empathy, personal growth, and life-changing lessons—values that align closely with his vision as a screenwriter.

With a strong foundation in both analytical thinking and artistic expression, Jonathan Sungishabo continues to bring inspirational and thought-provoking stories to life through his screenplays, aspiring to create content that resonates with audiences worldwide.
