About Leland

Leland Krane has over 20 credits in film and television. He has shot 13 narrative features. He began his career as a cinematographer, shooting on 35 mm film and is also well versed in the newest digital technology. Some of his most recent directing credits have been for Military channel’s Commander In Chief:inside the oval office. Cuban Missile Crisis was aired on the fiftyish anniversary of the even and well reviewed by the Wall Street Journal. He is currently shooting “REDRUM,” a new series for Discovery (ID) currently airing. Projects include "Chappelle's Show," for Comedy Central, the film “Under Hellgate Bridge” with Vincent Pastore, Dominic Chianese and Frank Vincent and the film “Confess,” with academy award winning actress Melissa Leo. Leland photographed and served as a producer on such projects as "The Trade," with Elizabeth Banks and James Rebhorn and "You are Here," with Camryn Manhein and Matt Ross, and in 2011 shot “Tunnel Vision,” a selection at the UrbanWorld Film festival and available on Nexflix, Amazon and other digital platforms. Recently he has turned his eye towards the role of director/cameraman helming several music videos in the US and multiple commercials, and web content which are currently airing in Europe and the US. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Skidmore College with a degree in Creative Writing, studied film at The New School for Social Research and screenwriting at NYU both of which schools he later taught cinematography at . Leland began his career as a lighting technician working with such directors Marcus Nispel, Tony Kaye, Brett Ratner, Rob Coen, and Marc Pellington.

Leland’s background in writing, photography and practical on-set experience is what
motivates his career as a Director/ producer- telling stories with pictures.
