About Jonathan

A career commercial / financial / programme and projects director for 22+ years mainly internationally in the Telecoms, I.T. and Mergers & Acquisitions sectors, with some experience of the media and film industry. Possessing a renewed interest and energy for film making. I have contributed to a variety of amateur productions in film and theater in England and Europe, and remain an avid enthusiast when time permits. I'm a RainDance member and currently in the process of seeking out a riveting script or screen play that I can help develop.
Completed the Raindance Film Makers Certificate, and now looking forward to doing the same for the Producer's Certificate.

In between jobs right now and looking to enhance my Production skills with some additional courses. Can anyone recommend any good short courses in London (UK) for Producers / Production Management?

  • War of the TulipsP

    War of the TulipsP (1996)
Film (short) by Bespoke Dutch Productions (Comedy) Producer / Executive Producer There is tension at the Dutch tulip market today. Its a public holiday, the tourists and locals are out to hunt for the best deals on tulips for the Easter weekend. But the van drivers are on strike. There are limited supplies of tulips. What will the tulip stalls do to find stick to sell, and keep customers happy. Violence, intrigue, comedy ensures. Shot on 16mm with little to no script, but the result was amazing. Not bad for just 6 days of preparation.

  • The Empire Strikes Back: Opening Scene remake

The Empire Strikes Back: Opening Scene remake (1984 - 1985)
Film (short) by The Grove School Producer / Director We re-shot the opening scenes to the Empire Strikes Back in which the rebel alliance is under attack in the snowy wastelands of Hoth. Almost 2 minutes of action filmed in miniature stop-motion on 8mm and 16mm, with plastic soldiers and models of AT-ATs, re-purposed and re-painted to replicate the characters from the film. With special effects shot and composited using a mix of BBC computers, glass, paint, sand and bicarbonate of soda - Thank you John Dykstra for the hints and tips !! All in a good cause as my main project for 'A' level Art, and various other smaller grades and certificates, not to mention my Duke of Edinburgh award that year. Thanks to the Grove School teachers, Alun Jones (Head of Art), and my many school friends that helped out, especially the school computer club.
