About William

William Smyth is the recipient of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts 2014 Fellowship in Film and a 7-time Emmy award-winning filmmaker. His work has appeared on MTV, Discovery, The Hallmark Channel and local television stations from Boston to Miami. He has directed and served as cinematographer on numerous projects including Dahiana Torres’”Pain Love & Passion” and Guy Benoit’s documentary, “Guitar 1711”.

He currently divides his time between Providence, Rhode Island and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where He runs his production company, 41 North Media.

His clients include (add)ventures, North Star Marketing, Gravity Lab Studios, Roger Williams University and UMass Med School.  

I have a B.A. in Film Studies from Rhode Island College and have studied at the Maine Median Workshops in Rockport, Maine.
