HELLO GORGEOUS
By Karen Goldfarb

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE: HELLO GORGEOUS, which was a quarter-finalist in the 2004 Austin Film Festival -- is a bit of a spoof. It's a comedy about Murray, a schlemiel who has one passion in life -- Barbra Streisand, with whom he believes he has a true bond. He believes she speaks to him - through her movies - and through her songs. One day -- a la Wizard of Oz, he sets out to find her.

SYNOPSIS:

SYNOPSIS When the movie opens, we see Murray staring mournfully at a dilapidated television, where he is watching for the millionth time, a battered copy of the film "The Way We Were." One day, while listening to Funny Girl, as Streisand belts out: "I want to Live and Live Now!" she jumps out of the picture he keeps of her prominently over his bed -- and into his World. After that Murray, on the advice of MADAME ZOLTAR, a fake but caring psychic, he decides to go west to meet her. Along the way, he joins up with a motley crew of misfits, who believe Streisand holds the answer to their prayers. They all end up in Las Vegas -- their very own Emerald City, where each is transformed.

James Peters

This sounds like it'd be a very entertaining movie. I enjoyed the synopsis very much. The script MUST be hilarious.
