Stephen Connolly

Born in Canada, I grew up in Scotland and the Republic of South Africa. I am married with a son and live in the Cotswolds, my daytime job is in IT. I have been writing since 1998 and graduated with an MA in Scriptwriting from Bath Spa University in 2015.

I write scripts for the stage and radio plays for Cirencester’s community radio station Corinium Radio. My monologues and plays have been performed at Bath Fringe, Salisbury Fringe, Gloucester Cathedral, the Artists’ Guild, London, Stroud Theatre Festival and the New Venture Theatre, Brighton. I was short-listed for the 2012 Marza Story Circus Film competition for 'The Fourteenth Duke of Plimsoll'

My radio play ’Sky Pilots’ was joint winner of the BBC Solent Radio Playwrights competition and broadcast on BBC Solent in May 2018, my radio play 'The Destiny of Shoes' was produced by Off the Rock Productions in York in January 2019.

My first full length play ‘Parzival’ has been selected by Bristol Old Vic for their Open Session Writers 2018 program and will be produced in Spring 2020.
