Melody Beattie

Wanted to be a professional writer since age 6 but forgot the dream until I turned 30. Now have achieved success as a newspaper reported and author (18 published books with long shelf lives) and am tackling my next writing challenge: screen and teleplays (that sell and get produced -- and watched). Underestimated the craft requirements in screenwriting until five years ago but the lights are finally coming on now as I integrate the great tools available. Lived in Minnesota until 1994, which is when Malibu found me. I love LA. I love the beach. I love a good story.
