Hello! I am a filmmaker and video producer with two decades of experience. I am currently working on pre-production for a new alien abduction short film, "You Are Being Watched. " Feel free to network with me!
If you are in need of music, I would love to get involved.
I have written a feature with some similar aspects entitled "LIFECREDIT"

I was recently approached by a producer who wants to pitch my script. she cannot option it, unfortunately, but she has some good contacts, has a few credits and is somewhat know in the community. Her contract is a net 5% and she will edit, tighten up the script and go out to attach "A" list talent. She wants a two year deal. I need to know if the contract should be on the gross and not the net. Can anyone give me anymore feedback on such deals... I have nothing else going on other than placing in a few screenplay contests...this can give my project a chance...but it may also limit my success. What would you do? Thanks Jay
Gross ='s the higher #..... if you are paying off the Gross, then you are paying off the higher number. Where overhead is a real cost, amongst other. Hence the Net, would be lower commission or percentage paid out.
I would hire a lawyer to review the contract.
Go for a percentage of gross as there is a high likelihood there will be no net (in other words, a lot of work and no pay) - no reflection on you, it's just the odds.

Call me computer illiterate, if you want, (even though I trained as a computer programmer in and around 1987!) but I have never tried to use Skype and have a pretty stupid question. I cannot use Skype without a video cam, correct? Also, is there a subscription or fee associated with Skype services?
No fee associated with Skype unless you call land lines.
Hi Joey, tell me about your fests please.
Hey Joey; Tell me how to join in? Is this vis a vis Happy Writers? Thanks. Jay
What are the perks of havin a writint partner? And what are t drawbacks
Thanks....its a new take for me, but I want to expand my ideas and a writing partner could bring out the muse in creativity...
Whenever I hear about co-writing, especially people who haven't made it, I think of Good Will Hunting...That was a collaboration and see where it ended up?? If you find the right person to collaborate with, collaborate away!
Finding the person is the hard part....
Hi Jay - thanks for connecting! Best, ~ Shay
so, is it true that most movies these days are adapted from successful novels? Is there even a shot at a newcomer getting his screenplay produced?
Dystopian Thrillers....are what I love and I have a great one sitting in the wings....waiting to be produced.... based on current events, connecting the dots, Implantable RFID, healthcare bill, false flag events, chem trails, GMO foods, genetic alterations, transhumanism...
Thanks for the invitation and add Jay. I look forward to working with you soon!
Raven; If your up to it, I could send you my script "LIFECREDIT" for you to read... Jay
